Growing up, Tim split time between the academic town of Ithaca, New York and the bustling city of Taipei, Taiwan. After graduating from Houghton College with a double major in biology and art, Tim spent several years working in community development and with at-risk youth before continuing to pursue his education with a master’s degree in environmental studies. 

During graduate school, Tim worked as a graduate teaching fellow, teaching several environmental science classes, leading discussions, and supervising the development of relevant curricula. This experience reaffirmed Tim’s interest in teaching, and, combined with his long and test-heavy time spent as a student in Taiwan, informs his approach to working with students by identifying student strengths and study habits while developing specific test-taking strategies.

In his spare time, Tim enjoys various outdoor activities such as backpacking and snowboarding, cooking, playing music, and attempting to learn new art mediums.
