New York tutor Rachel M. recently graduated from Cornell University where she studied Biology and Anthropology. She self-studied for the January 2019 MCAT while balancing her undergraduate courses, and scored in the 99th percentile. She is now working as a clinical research coordinator and medical assistant for a private practice in Manhattan, and will begin medical school in 2020.
Rachel has an extensive teaching background. While at Cornell she spent two years tutoring students in biochemistry and training other tutors on the subject. She also taught an undergraduate anatomy course and worked alongside faculty to develop class materials and lesson plans. She has experience teaching students of varying backgrounds and learning styles, and understands how to present material in a way that is easy to follow.
She remembers how intimidating it was to begin studying for the MCAT, so she wants to help others develop a comprehensive study plan that will give them the confidence they need to conquer the test. She brings enormous amounts of energy and positivity to tutoring, and will be a constant source of encouragement.
In her free time, Rachel enjoys dancing, watching Bones, and hunting for the best ice cream cone in New York.
