Melissa is a current medical student at The University of Chicago: Pritzker School of Medicine. She graduated magna cum laude from Brown University in 2016 with a degree in History. She used a variety of resources to study for the MCAT while finishing up her pre-med coursework. After 4 months of preparation, she earned a score of 523, placing her in the top 100th percentile of test-takers for 2017. Melissa formerly worked at a childbirth education center in Brooklyn and is a certified birth doula. She hopes to specialize in Obstetrics & Gynecology at UChicago.

Melissa has extensive experience in mentoring and working one-on-one with students. She enjoys getting to know individuals’ unique ways of learning and thinking and is especially eager to work with students on building confidence and overcoming test anxiety.

After graduating from Brown, Melissa spent 5 months working on a public health research project in South Africa. She loves exploring new places around the world and meeting new people wherever she goes. She also likes to cook and go on food adventures. Right now she is most excited about spending time with her kitten, Cleo.
