Louis S.
Education: BA, International Economics, CSU Chico, 2010
Lives in San Jose, CA, USA
Louis graduated from CSU, Chico in 2010 with a BA in International Economics and a minor in Italian. After professional forays into the fields of clean technology and academic physics, he decided to follow his energy for Attic Greek and Classical Latin. During the time he spent in the Classics MA at San Francisco State University, he also developed reading skills in German and French and continued to train his Italian.
He now applies this rigorous philological training toward a career in academic philosophy. He has taught at the university level and offers private tutoring services to students primarily in English, Ancient Greek, and Latin. These language courses are always styled according to the specific needs and interests of his students, e.g., with sections on rhetoric, creative writing, non-fiction writing, law, history, science, sociology, psychology, etc.
He recently synthesized various disciplines—economics, technology, classics, and philosophy—in his first book called The Money Phenomenon: A Concise Introduction to What Money Is under the nom de plume Louis Russell. His next book will follow up on the social thematic of The Money Phenomenon in order to explore a certain dynamics of interference within psychology, philosophy of mind, ethics, and political philosophy.
Louis loves to teach. His technical writing largely involves issues in Aristotelian and neo-Aristotelian epistemology. When he is not studying and teaching, he likes to cook, listen to music and podcasts, and play basketball.
