Has been responsible as an Accounting Manager and Controller for keeping the books and records of small to medium size clients. He has performed the record keeping functions through reporting to senior management the results of operations. In addition, he developed budgets and implemented upgrades to QuickBooks. Beyond implementing QuickBooks, customizing input screens, and reporting for users able to perform their functions more effectively. With his advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access, he has created customized solutions to assist in business’s making of optimal decisions on future growth. Larry has worked closely with internal and external auditors as well as regulatory bodies to prepare the documentation they require to do their review.
Performed internal and external financial, operational, and IT GRC and application reviews. As a seasoned auditor, he is involved with the planning, performing the fieldwork, communicating the findings, and implementing remediation for found deficiencies. This work has been performed for companies as diverse as Citigroup, CBS, JP Morgan Chase, and Bloomberg. In reviewing financial applications, all key cycles: revenue, expenses, inventory, and human resources have been extensively examined. In the Information Technology role, he executed reviews of system development life cycle, change control, backup, disaster recovery, and organizational controls. IT applications have led both integrated reviews with the financial audit as well as more technical reviews of access controls on systems such as SAP and Charles River.
For a decade, Larry developed software for Citigroup’s Stock Plan Services in Cobol/CICS/DB2. In addition, he has worked overseas for Merrill Lynch and Citigroup in London, Tokyo, and Hong Kong as a business analyst for trading system upgrades. For over twenty-five years he has taught as an accounting and math adjunct at colleges in the New York Metropolitan area. The courses were both on the undergraduate and graduate level. The courses included: all levels of accounting and tax, computer programming, and mathematics for the liberal arts student.
