Ethel attended the University of Chicago as an undergraduate, where she studied Biology, with a focus on global public health and epidemiology.
Outside of work and class, Ethel helped lead a student chapter at UChicago in a partnership with a grassroots Peruvian NGO to provide innovative solutions to a persistent disease (tuberculosis), worked in Lima with this NGO in the Summer of 2013 and has studied abroad in both Spain and China.
During college, Ethel also taught at a hands-on after-school science program for K-5 students at the University of Chicago Charter Schools.
Ethel currently works as a management consultant at Accenture, where she focuses on fostering cross-sector collaboration for social impact.
Ethel is fluent in English, Spanish, and Mandarin Chinese, with intermediate proficiency in Brazilian Portuguese and some exposure to German. In her free time, Ethel runs and trains Muay Thai (Thai boxing).
