Since then, she has gained extensive experience in teaching subjects as diverse as GRE prep, music theory, general chemistry, and ESL English in an individualized teaching environment. She loves the opportunity that individual instruction gives her to adapt to each student’s needs and interests.
A devoted educator, she taught college-level music and essay writing at Bowling Green State University for two years where she also helped undergraduate freshman with organization and study skills. For three years she taught Lindamood-Bell reading and writing curriculums while specializing in working with students with learning differences, specifically autism and attention deficit disorder. She also loves to tutor the life sciences, chemistry, and psychology, drawing upon her studies in neuroscience at Oberlin College.
Elise lives in Los Angeles with her 6 year-old Belgian Shepard mix named Cindy. When she isn’t working as a tutor or a freelance musician, she loves to knit and practice yoga.
