Education: BA in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from Middlebury College

Lives in New York City, NY, USA

NYC MCAT Tutor Cole B. was a Molecular Biology and Biochemistry student at Middlebury College and graduated with honors in May of 2017. He worked a variety of jobs before landing at Tutor the People, finding employment as a commercial salmon fisherman in Southeast Alaska, an associate at a small textile recycling company in New York City, and most recently, as a clinical research fellow in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at NYU Langone Medical Center. As a research fellow, Cole has authored a number of peer-reviewed manuscripts on topics related to orthopedic spine surgery.

Cole’s interest in tutoring began in college, where he worked as a teaching assistant for cell biology and genetics students, as well as a public speaking tutor with the Middlebury Oratory Society. As someone who benefited from having several incredible, patient teachers in his life, Cole is passionate about helping others learn as well.

While it may be cliché, he truly believes that studying for the MCAT is a marathon—not a sprint. His MCAT tutoring philosophy is active, meaning it centers on pointed self-assessment, ample time for practice exams, and thorough review of mistakes. No matter where you are on your path to medical school, Cole hopes to join your team and make the journey a little easier!
