Caitlin D.

Education: BA, Syracuse University in Magazine Journalism and International Relations

Lives in Washington, DC, United States

Caitlin is a reporter at the Washington Post and an alumna of Syracuse University, where she graduated summa cum laude with majors in magazine journalism and international relations and a concentration in intercultural communications. Her work has appeared in the New York Times, the Atlantic and the Columbia Journalism Review, among other outlets. She is also a long–time college tutor and freelance editor who has taught everything from grammar to personal essays.

Caitlin’s combined background in journalistic and academic writing means she stresses clean copy, concrete details and active constructions – and appreciates the number of drafts it takes to get there. She enjoys tailoring lessons to her students’ individual interests and needs, and always hands out her phone number and email address for those last–minute, right–before–deadline questions. She is an excellent writing tutor in Washington DC.

When she’s not writing, she’s probably cooking or studying Italian, her second-and-a-half language.
