NYC GRE tutor Alex C. is a literary translator (from Russian) and a former Professor of Russian Literature at CUNY-Queens College. He was awarded a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship in Literary Translation in 2015. His first full book, Russian Absurd, came out in the Northwestern World Classics series in 2017.
He is a graduate of the Bronx High School of Science in NYC, and University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, which he attended on a math scholarship. He holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Michigan and had completed two years of graduate work toward a MsED in Secondary Education at CUNY-Lehman College. He has successfully prepared thousands of students for standardized tests (SHSAT, SAT, GRE, GMAT) since 1986.
