K-8 Training

The SSAT is the required admission test at many of the best independent schools in the world. This test is one important step on the path to an independent school education.  Your SSAT score is one part of your complete application to an independent school; and while it is important, it is not the only criteria for admission.

The SSAT is designed for students in grades 3 through PG and is administered on three levels (Elementary, Middle, and Upper).

All levels of the SSAT contain verbal, quantitative (math), and reading comprehension sections, as well as an unscored writing sample. The verbal questions test vocabulary, verbal reasoning, and ability to relate ideas logically. The quantitative (math) questions test ability to solve problems involving mathematical concepts. The reading comprehension section tests ability to understand what you read. All tests are printed and administered in English.

Middle and Upper Level administrations of the SSAT also include an experimental section of 16 questions. This section is unscored and features questions that may appear on future versions of the SSAT.

As with all standardized exams, preparation can be daunting for the SSAT. We have knowledgeable staff who can help provide your student with the most individualized test prep for the SSAT. Click here to learn more about our SSAT tutors.
