Upper Manhattan MCAT Tutors
Upper Manhattan is a bustling and historic part of the City. It generally includes the neighborhoods Washington Heights, Harlem, Inwood, Marble Hill, and parts of Upper West Side. There are many historic sites and points of interest in Upper Manhattan, including, but not limited to, the Apollo Theater, Fort Tryon Park, the Cloisters, the National Jazz Museum, Grant’s Tomb, and much more.
Among the educational opportunities in Upper Manhattan are some of the nation’s most prestigious colleges. Columbia University is located just northwest of Central Park, the campus is sandwiched between Morningside Park and Riverside Park. Columbia is a great environment to study premedical sciences. Many of our Upper Manhattan MCAT tutors work with students on the Columbia campus, as it is filled with inspiring study areas. Columbia also offers extensive premed advising
Barnard College, located just across the street from Columbia, is the City’s only women’s college! Because of its convenient location just across the street in Upper Manhattan, Barnard students are able to benefit from using the Columbia University facilities in addition to those of Barnard. Barnard offers pre-health overview sessions to inform premeds of their options. They also have a streamlined online advising system so premeds can work directly with their advisors to make sure they are on the right track for medical school admissions. Their Pre-Health blog is a great place to stay updated on all news pre-health related, such as the most recent AAMC test dates!
City College of New York, also known as CCNY, is situated just north of Columbia University in Harlem’s Hamilton Heights, next to St. Nicholas Park. The campus is renowned for its architecture and for having graduated ten Nobel Prize winners. Referred to as the “Harvard of the proletariat,” CCNY is a great place to achieve a pre-medical degree. They have a dedicated Program in Premedical Sciences (PPS) group to help prepare their premeds for medical school. CCNY advises its students with personal statement reviews and interview preparation and provides thoughtful insight on MCAT tutors.

Our Tutors are Superhuman
Some time ago MCAT tutoring became a product, with huge companies focused on meager average score increases. One medical student was unsatisfied with the status quo and co-founded Tutor the People with the goal of personalizing MCAT test prep based on the needs of the individual student, not the needs of a focus group. We hire tutors who not only received top scores on the MCAT, but also have a passion and skill for teaching their students how to recreate their success on test day.
