Our Tutors are Superhuman
Sometime ago MCAT tutoring became a product, with huge companies focused on meager average score increases. One medical student was unsatisfied with the status quo and co-founded Tutor the People with the goal of personalizing MCAT prep based on the needs of the individual student, not the needs of a focus group. We hire tutors who not only received top scores on the MCAT, but also have a passion and skill for teaching their students how to recreate their success on test day.

Medical School and Opportunities in Nashville
Nashville, also known as America’s “Music City,” is the largest city and capital of Tennessee. Although it is renowned for country music, Nashville’s largest industry is healthcare and is home to the Hospital Corporation of America (HCA).
Nashville offers many top pre-medical programs. One option for Nashville pre-med students is Belmont University. Belmont encourages its premeds to major in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Psychology, or Molecular Biology.
Vanderbilt University offers a supportive environment to study premedical sciences. The pre med advisors work with students one on one to develop a plan that suits their strengths, interest, and background.
Fisk University is another terrific option for pre meds. Fisk offers a direct placement program in which students who meet the academic requirements can be placed directly into the School of Medicine at Meharry. Amongst the criteria includes maintaining a GPA of 3.4 or above in the sciences.
Meharry Medical College is the largest and oldest historically black academic health sciences center, and was the first medical school in the south, and is one of the nation’s top five producers of primary care physicians. This program focuses on improving healthcare for minority and underserved communities.
Vanderbilt University School of Medicine should only be considered as an option by students who have maintained a high GPA, and who achieve top scores on the MCAT. Accordingly, accepted students can expect to receive a top medical education. Vanderbilt SOM professors are encouraged to conduct medical research, and in doing so, to generate new medical knowledge.
We specialize in taking an individualized approach with every student. MCAT tutors create a unique study plan for each student, one that is tailored to the student’s strengths and areas of improvement. In addition, we provide free AAMC® MCAT prep materials to every student. We will also provide a free copy of our book, MCAT Math: Strategies and Practice Problems, written by one of our expert MCAT tutors.
After we learn about each student and their experience with the exam, our team then matches you with the best Nashville MCAT tutor who matches your availability and your specific MCAT needs.
We also offer small group MCAT tutoring. The groups are formed on an as-needed basis, so whether you are an individual looking to form a group, or a group of friends/classmates who want to save some money on MCAT prep, just contact us to form an MCAT study group. Group MCAT tutoring is offered both online and in-person.
Just starting your MCAT prep? Here’s some information about the MCAT® Test:
The Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) is a computer-based standardized test that Admissions Committees use as a tool to determine your future medical school success. The exam is designed to assess problem solving skills, critical thinking, and knowledge of scientific concepts and principles.

It is no doubt that students benefit from a customized, one on one approach to learning. When studying for a test as difficult as the MCAT, the one on one approach is especially crucial. Students who approach their prep in a more traditional, classroom setting, often obtain a general understanding of the content covered on the exam but are deprived of the focus needed to delve into the complex areas of the material. Because the MCAT is tested on such specific concepts piled on top of fundamental areas in science, it is crucial that students grasp the full basis of each science, before learning the intricacies that build upon them. Our Nashville MCAT tutors can help students no matter what page they are on. Maybe a premed is a stellar student, but never fully understood the role of amino acids in high school chemistry. Working with a MCAT tutor one on one, the pre med and the tutor can diagnose exactly in which areas of the exam the student is struggling most, then develop a carefully curated study schedule around the student’s strengths and areas of weakness.
