We have found that every MCAT student comes from a different place and is on a unique page in their foundation of knowledge. In order to deliver a completely customized MCAT prep experience, we start out by diagnosing the student’s standing on the MCAT. We want our private MCAT tutors to be effective at pinpointing your struggles. In order to accommodate that, we start out by asking some fundamental questions:
-
1When did you begin your MCAT prep?
-
2Are you struggling with content?
-
3Are you struggling with strategy?
-
4Did you study for the old MCAT?
-
5Do you prefer in-person or online tutoring?
-
6Have you taken an official AAMC exam before?
-
7Have you taken an MCAT practice test? If so, which one?
-
8How did you score on each section?

Our Tutors are Superhuman
Sometime ago MCAT tutoring became a product, with huge companies focused on meager average score increases. One medical student was unsatisfied with the status quo and co-founded Tutor the People with the goal of personalizing MCAT test prep based on the needs of the individual student, not the needs of a focus group. We hire tutors who not only received top scores on the MCAT, but also have a passion and skill for teaching their students how to recreate their success on test day.
Our mission is to provide an individualized approach with every student. MCAT tutors create an individualized study plan for each student, one that is tailored to the student’s existing strengths and weaknesses. In addition, we provide free AAMC® MCAT test prep materials to every student in order to help them apply their knowledge to authentic MCAT questions. We will also provide a free copy of our book, MCAT Math: Strategies and Practice Problems, written by one of our expert MCAT tutors.
After we learn about the individual student and their pre-med experience preparing for the exam, our team then matches the student with the best Jacksonville MCAT tutor who matches the student’s availability and specific MCAT expectations.
We also offer small group MCAT tutoring on a supply and demand basis. You might be an individual seeking to form a group or a group with friends/classmates who want to save some money on MCAT prep. No matter what your predicament, just contact us to form an MCAT study group. Group MCAT tutoring is offered both online and in-person.
Jacksonville MCAT Tutors: MCAT Prep Tailored to the Student!
There really is no one stop shop for MCAT preparation materials. We stick to the basics: we supply students with AAMC materials, and then tutors work with students using the students’ preferred combination of materials. The AAMC questions are the best for developing a realistic idea of where you stand and how you will score on test day. If you have not yet chosen which books you will use to guide your studies, you can consult with your tutor or our on-staff pre-med advisor, and we will help you choose what will be best for you. Our goal is to pinpoint exactly what areas or topics in the MCAT our students need help with and then we apply the best, most personalized MCAT tutoring to help our students strengthen their fundamentals and sharpen their building blocks for success. Our MCAT test prep has one goal in mind: our students’ acceptance to medical school. For that reason, we apply a holistic experience, including personal statement revision, extracurricular advising, etc. We are always here for our students.
Jacksonville Medical and Pre-Medical Opportunities
Jacksonville is the most populous state in the southeast. Once a land inhabited by Native Americans, it was later settled by Europeans, and following some battles and scars, became the riverine city known as Jacksonville. Jacksonville was named after Andrew Jackson, the first military governor of the Florida Territory, and the seventh president of the United States. It is the commercial, cultural, and financial center of northern Florida, and serves as the headquarters for many logistics, insurance, banking, biomedical technology, and healthcare institutions. Not surprisingly, Jacksonville offers many top-notch undergraduate institutions for premed studies.
Pre-medical students in Jacksonville are lucky to be surrounded by the lovely city and climate. University of North Florida offers a Biomedical Program, which encourages its students to connect with relevant professors and professionals in the field for advising, mentorship, shadowing and internship opportunities, interview preparation, and more. This program truly nurtures its premeds in their journey to becoming a doctor.
Jacksonville University (JU) also offers a premed program. Most students at JU who hope to become doctors major in Biology and Jacksonville boasts its students’ high success rate of gaining acceptance to medical schools.
Hardworking premeds who gain acceptance to University of Florida College of Medicine, also known as UFCOM-J, will be in a great environment for learning and researching. This school of medicine is renowned for its state of the art research facilities. It would be wise for pre-meds who hope to have a career both in medicine and medical research to apply to this program.
Are you at the beginning of your MCAT studies? Here’s some information about the exam:
The Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) is a computer-based standardized test that Admissions Committees use as a tool to determine your future medical school success. The exam is designed to assess problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and knowledge of scientific concepts and principles.

One on One MCAT Tutoring in Jacksonville
It is no doubt that students benefit from a customized, one on one approach to learning. When studying for a test as difficult as the MCAT, the one on one approach is especially crucial. Students who approach their prep in a more traditional, classroom setting, often obtain a general understanding of the content covered on the exam but are deprived of the focus needed to delve into the complex areas of the material. Because the MCAT is tested on such specific concepts piled on top of fundamental areas in science, it is crucial that students grasp the full bases of each science, before learning the intricacies that build upon them. Our Jacksonville MCAT tutors can help students no matter what page they are on. Maybe a premed is a stellar student, but never fully understood the role of amino acids in high school chemistry. Working with a Jacksonville MCAT tutor one on one, the pre med and the tutor can diagnose exactly in which areas of the exam the student is struggling most, then develop a carefully curated study schedule around the student’s strengths and areas of weakness.
