    Our Tutors are Superhuman

Some time ago MCAT tutoring became a product, with huge companies focused on meager average score increases. One medical student was unsatisfied with the status quo and co-founded Tutor the People with the goal of personalizing MCAT test prep based on the needs of the individual student, not the needs of a focus group. We hire tutors who not only received top scores on the MCAT, but also have a passion and skill for teaching their students how to recreate their success on test day.

Success Stories
Eliza and the Tutor the People team have been truly fabulous to work with. They were remarkable through the difficult process of applying to medical school and I would recommend them to anyone!! Peyton G., a current tutor and medical student who tutored me for the MCAT, was nothing short of an expert. He is a patient and gifted teacher that has helped me immensely. Thank you, Tutor the People!!

Tutor the People is a phenomenal choice! After looking at different tutoring companies, I chose Tutor the People and was more than thrilled. Eliza was superb at staying connected throughout the process and checking in on me. My MCAT tutor, Colton, was helpful, knowledgeable, and instrumental in helping me feel prepared on test day. If you're on the fence about getting a tutor, or trying to decide on a company, I highly suggest you use Tutor the People!

I have had an amazing experience working with Tutor the People. The MCAT can be really intimidating but from the moment I contacted them I have received nothing but support, valuable information and encouragement. Since I had to study during the semester, I was very concerned about fitting in enough time to properly prepare between classes and research. But my tutor immediately helped me organize a great, personalized study plan and assisted me in finding the best MCAT prep materials I didn't even know existed. In the end, I earned a 522 (99% percentile) and I know I couldn't have done it without the help from Tutor the People!

I would highly recommend Tutor the People. Initially, I was hesitant as my sessions would have to be online, but it was clear from the first meeting that I had made the right choice. Eliza, Andrew & Lifeng helped me increase my score by 11 points. Their ability to make the process seamless, understand my needs and to create a unique approach worked for me. Not only did I receive an excellent tutor, Lifeng, who was flexible, had a deep understanding of the MCAT and knew how to prepare for it, I also received a team behind him hoping that I succeed. Compared to a bigger prep company (who I tutored with before), I believe Tutor the People has your back and wants to see you succeed. This is what made the difference for me and I could not be happier with my decision. Vanessa S. (Vancouver, BC)

5 stars are not enough to rate Tutor the People. They go beyond what most MCAT prep courses offer. I highly recommend them for MCAT and medical school preparations. Not only did they help me score 15 points higher on my MCAT, but also helped me during the medical school application process. Very thankful for this great program!! :)

I learned how to maximize my study time, which materials to use, and how to attack specific kinds of questions that I frequently struggled with. Both of my tutors took time to make sure that I understood the answer to each question. They pushed me to dedicate significant amounts of time to studying, and they helped me use this time in the best way. I am so happy with my choice to work with Tutor the People and study independently rather than taking a course through a well-known company. This opportunity raised my MCAT score by 7 points from my first practice test and helped me excel in my weakest subjects. I would highly recommend Tutor the People if you are looking to work hard with tutors who are committed to your success and if you want to master the new MCAT in an efficient and fulfilling way.

I never thought I would be able to achieve a 12 on the Physical Sciences, and if I had only done a group class, I never would have. All of my friends are extremely impressed because I am the one who went with the tutor and self-discipline study method, and so far, I have scored the highest on the MCAT. With a good tutor like Ben from Tutor the People and the drive to succeed, achieving your goal is most definitely possible.

I can't say enough good things about Crystal. She's super patient, knowledgeable, and encouraging. The first time I took the MCAT I got a 31 even though I felt I've done all I could in terms of content. I wanted to improve my score but was hitting roadblocks studying independently because I couldn't pinpoint exactly why I got certain questions wrong, and thus did not know how best to correct them. Crystal was extremely good at this and taught me many strategies to conquer types of questions that I couldn't previously. There were also times during verbal review that I just felt burnt out and discouraged given how hard it is to improve verbal scores, but Crystal was patient with me and drilled strategies with me constantly. I ended up getting an 11 on verbal!

Prior to choosing Tutor the People as my verbal MCAT prep source I was a bit hesitant about having the sessions over Skype. However, after meeting for our first trial session I was positive my tutor was the man for the job. He was well organized and structured the course to fit my schedule. He was very communicative as to how the sessions would progress and where we should be towards the middle and end of our course. Not only was he a master at the verbal section, but he was able to effectively teach me his strategies, and help me craft the skill set necessary to be successful. The investment was well worth it and my tutor helped me increase my verbal score by 5 points!

I used TTP as I prepared for the MCAT and primary AMCAS application. My tutor was phenomenal, the personalized approach to studying allowed me to get the most out of my sessions. The sessions focused on giving me tools to approach the test, along with high yield information leading me to meet my goal score. Following test, the mentors also met with me several times to perfect my personal statements (at no additional cost to me). The advising I received was beyond anything that I expected. I highly recommend Tutor the People for their personalized approach to tutoring, cost effectiveness, and proven results.

I used Tutor the People to study for the MCAT, and absolutely LOVED the tutor I worked with. He was very knowledgeable and able to cater my study schedule to my individuals needs. I managed to increase my score from the last time I took the MCAT by 4 points using tutor the people. You pay for as many hours as you think you need and if you don't use it all they'll refund it to you! They even include some practice materials from the AAMC website in their tutoring package, including a practice test and question bank. One of the founders PERSONALLY reached out to me and worked with me to write a brilliant personal statement FOR FREE. Even after submitting he was still willing to talk me through ideas for how to write secondaries. I honestly loved my time working with the people from Tutor the People and would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone applying to medical school. I love tutor the people!

While studying for the MCAT, I found TTP after completing my free-repeat course with Kaplan. I had taken the exam and Kaplan's course once before, however, I wasn't satisfied with my original score. After retaking the Kaplan course, my progress seemed to plateau and that's when I found TTP online. I called on a Saturday morning, and Eliza walked me through their entire process, answering all of my questions thoroughly. Very responsive, and understanding of my situation, Eliza quickly worked to pair me with a tutor despite my last minute needs. While my first tutor pair was not a great match, Eliza was happy to switch me to someone I thought might be a better fit. I ended up working with Dominique over Skype, who set up a plan to accommodate my needs and schedule. Covering material and strategy along the way, I was scoring significantly better on practice exams this time around with TTP before taking the exam. Dominique was also great about checking in on my stress and endurance levels the entire time I was studying. I would highly recommend TTP. All staff is incredibly accessible, receptive, and helpful.
