Step 1
When you sign up for one of our CFA test prep packages, the first thing we'll do is get to know you through one-on-one interviews and practice problems. We'll ask about your experience with the CFA level exams, academic and work experience, concerns, and learning style so that we can match you with the perfect tutor.

Step 2
Your new tutor will then begin to build a customized study plan designed to fit your goals and schedule. Specifically keeping in mind your particular academic strengths and weaknesses, they will work with you to create a study schedule to help make the most out of your study prep time. Whether you have some experience with the material already or are starting from scratch, your tutor will make sure you cover all of the necessary material so that you can walk confidently into that testing center.

We don’t just want you to memorize some facts, we want you to become comfortable with the material. The questions you’ll face on test day are designed to be confusing. By incorporating regular practice problems and practice tests into every study plan, we help you get comfortable with the question styles you will encounter on the real CFA. We’ll also work on strategies to relieve testing anxiety to help ensure that exam day is as stress-free as possible.
New To CFA Prep? Here’s some information about the CFA levels:
The Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program is a post-graduate qualification that takes an average of 4 years to complete. It involves taking 3 different level exams, each scored on a “pass” or “did not pass” scale. There is no limit to the number of times you can take each exam, however Level I is only offered in June and December while Level II and Level III are only offered in June. All 3 levels of the CFA will focus on the same general topic areas:
- Ethical and Professional Standards
- Quantitative Methods
- Economics
- Financial Reporting and Analysis
- Corporate Finance
- Equity Investments
- Fixed Income
- Derivatives
- Alternative Investments
- Portfolio Management
The CFA is widely considered to be one of the most difficult qualification exams available with an average pass rate of only 40-50%. Each level of the exam requires a minimum of 300 hours of test prep in order to be ready on your test date.
Level I
This first exam contains all multiple-choice style questions. There are two basic questions format that will be used: sentence completion with three unique choices and questions with three unique choices. The exam will be broken up into two 3 hour sessions with a break in the middle. You can expect to receive your results within 60 days of taking the exam.
Questions:
- Morning Session – 120 questions
Afternoon Session – 120 questions - Each question is equally weighted and will have 3 possible answer choices
- You should be spending an average of 90 seconds per question
What will be on the exam:
- Ethical and Professional Standards: 15%
- Quantitative Methods: 10%
- Economics: 10%
- Financial Reporting Analysis: 15%
- Corporate Finance: 10%
- Equity Investments: 11%
- Fixed Income: 11%
- Derivatives: 6%
- Alternative Investments: 6%
- Portfolio Management and Wealth Planning: 6%
Level II
This second exam contains vignettes that span an average length of 1.5 pages. You will then have to answer multiple-choice questions in response to these “mini-cases”. The exam is again broken up into two 3 hour segments, and you can expect to receive your results within 60 days of your test date.
Questions:
- Morning Session – 10-15 vignettes with 60 questions
Afternoon Session – 10-15 vignettes with 60 questions
What will be on the exam:
- Ethical and Professional Standards: 10-15%
- Quantitative Methods: 5-10%
- Economics: 5-10%
- Financial Reporting Analysis: 10-15%
- Corporate Finance: 5-10%
- Equity Investments: 10-15%
- Fixed Income: 10-15%
- Derivatives: 5-10%
- Alternative Investments: 5-10%
- Portfolio Management and Wealth Planning: 10-15%
Level III
This third exam is considered the most difficult of the three. It contains item sets and multiple-choice style questions and is again broken up into two, 3-hour segments. You can expect to receive your results within 90 days of your test date.
Questions:
- Morning Session – 8–15 vignettes with constructed response questions
Afternoon Session – 10–15 vignettes with 60 multiple choice questions
