Reading Tutoring Designed Just For You

There are multiple reasons why a student may be struggling with reading and these issues can manifest in the form of lower grades, frustration, and feelings of low self-worth. At Tutor The People we don’t think any child should have to go through that. Difficulties in reading can influence a student’s performance in all areas academically, as well as in any future careers they are in. That’s why we work with students to build strong foundations in phonics, fluency, and reading comprehension so that they can do better while feeling more confident in their own abilities.

Does your child have dyslexia or other reading difficulties that they are struggling with? Let us match you with a tutor who has years of experience with the Orton-Gillingham approach so that they can help your child learn the skills they need to succeed.

We’re Here To Help You Enjoy Reading

Experience tutoring the way it should be: with expert tutors, proven results, and affordable prices.

Our expert tutors have experience working with struggling readers of every background. Whether your child is just learning to read or needs help with their reading and writing at a high school level, our research-based approach has been proven to help increase your child’s reading ability.

Rather than basing our program on a student’s grade level, we approach each student as a blank slate. We take the time to learn where the student’s abilities are based on their actual reading level, and then work on getting them to where they need to be. Our reading specialists will work with your child to create a learning plan that is designed around their learning style so they can learn the material with as little frustration as possible.

We Work Around Your Schedule

Between work, school, and socialization, we know that life can be a bit hectic. When you sign up for 1-on-1 tutoring, you’ll be able to set up a schedule that matches your needs. Our reading tutors can meet as often as daily, either online or in-person at the student’s location of choice. You can also change your schedule whenever you need it. Do you usually meet once a week with your tutor, but need help preparing for that upcoming test? Switch to daily sessions! We’ve got you covered.

We also offer a wide variety of reading tutoring group sessions on an as-needed basis. These group classes will focus on individual needs while applying each lesson to the group as a whole so everybody can learn together.

Why Is Reading Tutoring Important?

The ability to read goes beyond being able to read a menu at a restaurant or what your friends are saying on social media. Having strong reading skills means having the reading comprehension ability to fully process what you’re reading no matter the situation. This is something that is vital for a student’s success in every single academic subject, as they will always have to be able to process new information through written words. Assignment instructions, exam questions, and their own notes all require the ability to efficiently digest the material as they read it.

The topics we focus on in our reading tutoring programs:

Fluency
Phonics
Phonemic Awareness
Reading Comprehension
